The Freibott Law Firm was recently successful in prosecuting a claim on behalf of one of its clients when we filed a petition for permanent impairment to our client’s left upper extremity. Our client was injured on June 4, 2020 as a medical assistant in nursing for the State of Delaware Psychiatric Center when she was attacked in a hallway by a patient. Our client injured her left upper extremity. Dr. Jeffrey Meyers was our client’s expert. The State of Delaware hired Dr. Gelman as its expert. The Industrial Accident Board found our client credible and awarded her an award for her permanent impairment to her left upper extremity. The State of Delaware, our client’s employer, pursued its opinion that our client sustained a 0% impairment which the Industrial Accident Board rejected. Accordingly, the Industrial Accident Board awarded our client an award for permanent impairment and ordered the State of Delaware to pay an attorney’s fee and reimburse our client’s medical expert fee.
